very nice, I like it alot.
Very nicely done. This is a great example of what you can do with WordPress.
Nice, but long loading times. Any possibility to compress the pics?
which pictures?
site pictures (buttons, logos, banners, etc) are web optimized, posting pictures is something outside of my control, I'm trying to get the posters to realize that an image does not need to 1000px wide at 1200dpi, but not easy as most are not web savvy and don't understand image compression and size limits versus requirements and 'I want people to see the detail'
thanks for the feedback...
Ok, no hard feelings then...
none....
very nice~
very clean
thanks for your support and feedback.
any more comments/feedback?
Hi Jrodgers
Great site! Just wondering how you did the Latest news page? I've been trying to ficure out how to use WordPress like thet, or like a normal CMS if you will. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appriciated.
do you mean the different news pages and each one having different content? they are blog pages driven by custom pages in the background, you can use default pages to get the same effect, the site pages are custom as the side bars and headers are different
to do it within the WP frame work
See : http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy
lets say you have a category called Animals(category 15) with sub categories Cats (category 12), Dogs (category 22) etc...etc...
you can copy category.php rename it to category-15.php and WP will automatically show only category animal and all animal sub categories on that page
Really nice job on the front page graphics. I don't like black backgrounds, but good job anyway!
Hi again jrodgers
That was exactly what I was looking for! Great stuff, been seaching for an answer to this for days now ;-) Much appriciated.
Sorry, been away for a bit...
Rose, thanks, any particular reason you don't like black backgrounds? personal preference? site standards? user acceptance?
Electric Studio, no problem, glad i could help
Hey there,
These secondary pages are awesome. I don't give a crap about cars, but I'm getting exciting seeing these great photos of custom paint jobs and shiny bits of chrome.
However...
If you're using images for the navigation, why is the type all crappy? Ditto on footer contact info, utility links in the top, and the Legal link. If they were text, they'd be easier to maintain, be accessible, and would render better in Vista/MacOSX. If you stay with images, they could look a lot better than this.
The information architecture here is a bit confusing. There's like two competing navigation systems, the "Main Menu" navigation, and the "Services, Testimonials, etc." navigation. They don't seem related. I didn't actually notice the "Main Menu" nav for a while, it seems like kind of an afterthought.
Finally, I don't get the initial into page. It feels like those old flash intro pages from years back, a speedbump on my way to the rest of the site. Only, looking at the rest of the site, this is really also a really important part of navigating the site.
This site looks fantastic, but it really doesn't make sense as I click through it. From the homepage I click on Custom Paint, but then there's no link over to the section on airbrusing. I have to go up to Services / Airbrushing.
I'd recommend sitting down and mapping out the different things people coming to this site are likely to want to do. Reorganize the site and navigation around that. The design is there. This site just needs to be reshuffled.

yea some of the paint work is absolutely amazing, and lots more to come...if i can just get them to post it! (in reasonably sized pics)

any chance of an SS of what you are seeing, looks clear on FF/Opera/Safari/IE6/IE7 on XP and safari mac, would like to see how they show on your screen see if theres something I need to/can change (if you can get an SS can you list your settings too, screen resolution, os (version info), browser, monitor type so i can try to recreate the scenario locally and determine the fix

good feedback, I'll pass it on and see what feedback i get
thanks for the feedback andrew
For the most part it looks like it was designed by a pro
No special reason - mostly personal preference. I just like light backgrounds better. Easier to read...it seems that lately I've been seeing a lot of sites with black backgrounds and medium-colored text, like gray - makes it very hard to read and is irritating to me!
Like I said, though - I like your site, black background or not. For you, it works.
