Support » Fixing WordPress » Searching the entire site code

  • Is there a way to do a search of the code for my entire site. For example there are still remnants of “previewdns.com” that I run into now and then. Is there a way to search everywhere for that string so I can fix them?

  • Most probably is coming from database you need search and replace using a editor like notepad++

Thanks for that. I’m using a Mac. I don’t know how to access the database. I’d also like to change all instances of an email address which has changed – things like that.

There are a number of database search and replace plugins. I can’t recommend one as I just use SQL. Be sure to back up the database first. Your hosting provider can do that or you can use a utility like phpmyadmin.

    Thanks. I’ll look into that.
