[resolved] Searching for business name not working (8 posts)

    Hello,

I am using Wp 3.5.1 and plugin v2.2.

After entering all my listing via the admin area, I search the business names on the front end of the site, they do not appear in the search results listings page. All that is displayed is 'No listings found' along with the advanced search form.

The results only appear when I search in the advanced search form.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi rikardo85,

Have you tried eliminating a plugin or theme conflict? http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

    Hello,

I have tried changing themes and deactivating plugins. This has not worked.

    Thanks

So can you outline for me exactly what you are searching on, what listings you expect to see (links), and what does show up instead?

The search bar searches the description and title fields only for speed. The advanced search form is used for all other field permutations. Perhaps that's the issue?

Ok that makes sense. Thank you. It searches the title field with no problems.

Is it possible to add a water mark to the simple search form?

Is there a way to replace the simple search with the advance search form?

    Thanks

    Hi rikardo85,

You can't replace the simple search form with anything else without hacking the plugin yourself at this time.

Not sure I understand your watermark question--watermarks are typically used with images to avoid theft. What are you trying to use it for here?

A watermark/placeholder for the input field of the search bar.

    E.g search club

I got the term 'watermark' from the contact form 7 plugin.
By using watermark "search" this added text in the input field.

    Thanks

Ah--you mean placeholder. OK. At the moment, we don't support that, you'd have to hack the plugin to add it.
