    Hi Tobias,

    I would like to enable the searching and sorting function of tablepress - now I have found out I have to activate Javascript and jQuery.

    Is this really needed?

    I have tried to learn about javascript and jQuery but it is to me like opening the box of pandorra :) I am studying economy, not programming :)

    If it´s necessary to do so, (and I know this is a lot to aks) could you please explain to me in easy steps how to do it?

    Best regards

    Hi,

    don't worry, you don't actually have to do anything with JavaScript or jQuery. These advanced features are enabled by default in TablePress, to make everything as easy as possible.

    The reason why this is not working is a bug in the JavaScript code of another plugin, namely the "Jquery Validation For Contact Form 7
    " plugin. In its JavaScript file "/wp-content/plugins/jquery-validation-for-contact-form-7/js/jquery.jvcf7_validation.js", there is a mistake near the bottom of the file. The line

    jQuery('form.wpcf7-form"').each(function(){

    needs to be changed to

    jQuery('form.wpcf7-form').each(function(){

    (with the " removed). The easy fix for you would be to just do this, but you might also want to contact the author of that plugin and report the issue.
    After this is fixed, the JavaScript functions, like sorting and search, will work fine in your table.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hey.

    I did this ( I hope I did it right via FileZilla)

    But still it does not work.

    Is there any other possibility?

    Regards

    Hi,

    yes, you have made the change correctly. It just looks like you still have the old version of the file in the browser cache. Just reload the page by pressing "Shift+F5" a couple of times and it should be working. If that does not do, just clear your entire browser cache in the browser settings.

    Regards,
    Tobias
