Support » Fixing WordPress » Search/Comments Problem

  • I installed WP a couple of days ago. I’m running it under XP Home, with Apache 2.0.47 and php 4.3.2. The system installed fine, and I can post and change settings. But, when I try to add a comment I get the following error:
You don’t have permission to access /”/” on this server.
And this is what shows up in the Apache access log:
    64.180.145.232 – – [19/Oct/2003:01:51:09 -0700] “POST /\”/\” HTTP/1.1″ 403 302
I get exactly the same result when I try to search. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • I have a similar problem with comments on my blog . they are in italian and they use characters with accents like àèìòù.
well, if I add a post from the public area of the blog, they get encoded not the right way which is & egrave ; and so on, but they get encoded as error chars like if they were encoded from another charset into ASCII, just like the example you show above.
But, if I add a comment from within the admin area, they get encoded correctly.

I figured out what was wrong with mine. I’m only using ASCII characters, so the problem source is probably different, but perhaps this will give you a clue to solve it. The issue for me was this: I have a form that I include from another file in the blog page, but the form tags for that form (which appears in the page before the search/comments forms) were not closed. I guess they were interfering with each other. It works fine now.
