Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
I’m afraid that this is something that your theme does. The WordPress search basically operates by finding all posts/pages in the database that either directly contain the search term in their content or that contain a [table]
Shortcode that has a cell which contains the search term.
It then returns a list of all those posts and it’s up to the theme on how to display them. Most themes then simply show the title of the posts/pages with a small extract of the post/page content.
To change that, you’d have to edit your theme, to e.g. show the full post/page content. Showing only that part of the table that contains the search term is however not possible with that approach.

Hi Tobias,
thanks for the swift reply.
Would you know of any workaround?
A plug-in for example that supports this?
It would be easy to extract data from a page, but as the tablepress is generated rather than static, I wouldn’t know how to implement it.
thanks,
Toby

Hi,
no, sorry, I’m not aware of any plugins that could be used here.
Also, as mentioned, it’s not really possible to extract the relevant rows from the table, except maybe if you use the TablePress Row Filter Extension from tablepress.org/extensions/row-filter/
That would however still require custom programming, like replacing the Shortcode in the search results with the one that has the filter
parameter.

OK, thanks again for your help.
I’ll let you know if I find a solution, guess have to do without for the time being.

Hi,
no problem, you are very welcome! Sorry that I couldn’t help with a solution. And yes, it would be great if you would let me know if you find something!
Best wishes,
