Search-result excerpts without using post_excerpt

    I want my search-results to display only a certain number of words for each post, instead of the whole thing; but I don’t fill in post_excerpt when writing posts, so how would I go around doing that?

    You can still use the_excerpt on your search results page. It’ll auto-truncate the post content.
