Please add Advance Search feature to your search function here at http://wordpress.org/support or http://codex.wordpress.org/Troubleshooting, I ended up getting both on results page. But many of them were posted over 4 years ago (you can't see it unless you open each link).
Using search within http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins work great but need to narrow down by years last updated, Average Rating, to name a few.
It's get frustrating what I'm looking for. I really hate to quit WordPress if this search function doesn't get fixed.

Oddly enough I was thinking the exact same thing merely a few minutes before I read this post. In order to see whether I could upgrade to the latest version, I needed to find out if that tacky old toolbar is still mandatory, so I put toolbar in search.
There were a lot of threads. None being of any use since a frivolous and impatient nature forbade me from going through 12,000 results [ srsly, as my lolcat would say ] to find the newest of them.
It's a long story and the tl;dr is Yahoo did it.
