Search form action home_url not using correct template (1 post)

Our homepage points to a "products" template, and the sidebar has a search form that submits to the homepage but when it submits it brings up the index template instead of our products template with s=whatever as the search param. It doesn't matter if I change the search variable (like to "search=whatever"), it still only brings up the index template.

    Our Settings are:
    - Reading > Front page displays: A static page (the Products page, which is just blank and points to the products.php template).
    - Permalinks > Post name (http://www.oursite.com/sample-post/).

    Everything else works hunky-dory.
