   Why would google not pick up the metadescription for my blog? I have verified the sitemap in Webmaster Tools. I have verified that the meta description is saved. But google is pulling the meta from a post on the home page.

   What am I missing?

   The descriptions shown in Google depend on the search query, and Google may not show the meta description for a particular search, especially if the search terms are not in it.
