[resolved] Search engine tagline problems. (4 posts)

I recently started a WordPress blog, and wanted to remove the "Just another WordPress site" tagline. So, after searching these wonderful forums, I found out how to and did. But, on a Google search, my site title still shows up as "MyBlogName|Just Another WordPress Site"
I've opened a new tab and searched again, refreshed and cleared cookies, nothing changed.
The only thing I can think of is that my new tagline, "Definitely not just another WordPress site" is similar enough to the original that either WordPress or Google automatically substitutes it. But then, as I said, I'm relatively new to WordPress.
    Help would be appreciated.

It can take Google a while to update its own cache. Try checking again in a week or so.

Okay, cool. None of the threads that came up on a search said anything about that, so I was beginning to worry. Thank you.

I know I'm three months late, but just wanted to say that I found this helpful. Almost every search for removing "just another wordpress" returned instructions on changing the tagline, which I have also done on my blog.

I guess that means there's nothing wrong, and it's just a matter of the site being re-crawled in the near future.
