• My site has recently gone live and now google has indxed it, not very highly but at least on the first page of results.

When i search any site and google produces a search result it lists a website with a basic title in bold and then a short passage of text from that page, but on my page it doesnt do that exactly. When the results from my site are displayed they only show the the name of the page, with the text below. I want to be able to make the top line (in bold) to read something different than just the page name.

eg. At the moment when i search for my site it might display the home page as a result. This result says Homepage, with the passage from the home page below that.

I want to change Homepage to <My site name> Home Page or something similar to that.

Can anybody help to explain how to do this? Have i named my pages incorrectly or do I have to do something with the code?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Please link (URL?) to a page where you find the problem.

I’d rather not have my website indexed on this forum with this problem. Is there a way that I can post it without it being indexed by a search engine? or a PM that I can send?

    No.

or a PM that I can send?

Sorry, no PM, email, etc. Support is provided through this forum only.

BTW, you need not post the URL. You can just include the missing details such as title, description, keywords, etc. in your posts/pages. Some themes have these built in features, if your theme does not have anything like that, you may use a SEO plugin that will help you insert these details.
