   Hello

   I noticed that Google lists my posts within 5 minutes or so from posting them. I'm using WP2.8.4, does it have a built-in SE ping service? or am I just lucky?

   yes - wordpress uses Ping-O-Matic's server (rpc.pingomatic.com) by default.

   you can go further if desired

   Oops, sorry, I got the answer right from inside my admin area (Settings > Writing):

   Update Services

   When you publish a new post, WordPress automatically notifies the following site update services. For more about this, see Update Services on the Codex. Separate multiple service URLs with line breaks.
   http://rpc.pingomatic.com/

   Samboll, I have the opposite problem, my site no longer pings. This stopped all of a sudden about a month ago. Before that it was pinging everything. Any idea what is happening? Please help! I am certain it is affecting my traffic negatively... :(

   /wp-admin/options-writing.php
   and make sure you still have at least one ping service listed - near bottom of page

   Hi, for some reason pingomatic is not pinging my blog.
   how often you can use it, and wich other free sevice can I use.
