It's probably a "VERY" newbie question...

Before I was using "blogger", all the posts were "real", with their own .html entries.

Now I understand that WordPress use "virtual folder" to create archive.

My question: can search engine (google, yahoo, msn...) crawl trough those "virtual folder" to link the post ?

Any special "tag" to include ?

    Thanks

    David

You've posted here with a link - rest assured that googlebot will be along soon :)

    This won't harm:
    Plugin Name: Google Sitemaps
    Plugin URI: http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/05/google-sitemaps-generator-v2-final
Description: This generator will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.
    Version: 2.7
    Author: Arne Brachhold
    Author URI: http://www.arnebrachhold.de/

  3. Google has no clue whatsoever that it's a virtual folder. ;)

  4. Googlebot has no problem with "virtual directories", because as far as it's concerned, they are real directories.

As Podz has already stated, since you have posted here with a link, the Googlebot will be along soon to index your site. It may take anywhere from a week to six months before your site appears in Google's search results. While you are waiting, try implementing the plugin that Podz linked to above, and a few of these as well: http://codex.wordpress.org/Search_Engine_Optimization_for_Wordpress

Thanks for all the replie ! I read a couple of thing about the virtual folder and now I understand how it work.

Before, I always use "blog" who need to rebuilt when you post or edit thing (so you create a "real file). The virtual folder was new for me.

BTW I install the Google Sitemaps plugin: work great !

    Thanks !
