   Is this possible? If not, that sure would be helpful. Some of us use WordPress as a powerful communication tool, and the comments are key to our content.

   You can search comments on the edit comments page.

   ok. but can i have my visitors search everything (including comments) on my blog?

   i would like that too... kinda like google search that searches for everything. :p

   Hey, all, there's this plugin:
   http://dancameron.org/pages/wordpress-plugins/search-everything-wordpress-plugin/
   which searches everything, not separately though. I too would prefer one or the other.
