    Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

    I am using chrome so I can inspect the element. It seems like something is overriding the css. It says 80% but when I go to change it in my css, it say 20%.

    #base_search_input width is set to 80% in forum.css – try maybe 200px instead of 80%

    Ok, got that. I was actually using the wrong script from the forum.

    One more quick question. What is the best way to style the search button? I have had this problem before. Assign it it’s own class id?
