Using the filter/search on the front end (jobsfilter.php)

After I put anything in the filter keyboard text field – example: I type housekeeping:

This is what happens:

1. If I press enter key – the page reloads to the main page of website. If I hit the back button, then I get to the job listing results page – everything is how it should be.

2. If I click off on this filter keyboard text box (as opposed to hitting enter)after typing in search criteria – and click anywhere outside of this text box, the results load as they should on the page.

I have not changed any core scripts/codes on jobfilter.php

Thoughts? Ideas?

Do you have a URL to this? It could be another script on the page, or a submit button added to the job filters.

Can’t find the script conflict yet…..

Wondering if it’s the advanced search widget I’ve used, but removed that – and still has a problem….

Maybe I just need tequila….ha!

Your jobs shortcode is wrapped in code tags. Not sure if that affects this. Edit the page and remove those wrapping tags.

Nope. Removed the wrapping.

I’m going to change the entire template….. and strip it right down and see what happens.

Nope. Stripped it right now to a plain template and went back to beginning again…

Your theme has some JS related to submit buttons – ruled that out?

Nope. But I’m thinking I found something. Parent site is drupal install – isn’t playing nice with loading of url from the plugin.

May have to edit .htaccess …..

I’d suggest trying with twenty twelve theme – that code definitely looks responsible. I think the theme is enqueueing it anyway.

Tried that theme. Still didn’t work.

Something is lurking – figure it out soon. Bottle of wine may help.

That code was from the academy theme. FYI I just double checked locally and the form doesn’t submit on enter on my installs.

Yup – I get it. I know it’s always the theme – not the plugin usually.
But when I installed a different theme, cleaned everything, still did it.
Initially, thought it was the update – but I’m obviously missing something else – even after cleaning it and doing another theme.
