Don’t ask here questions about MU. We don’t know anything about it and they have their own forum: http://mu.wordpress.org/forums
… that being said, there may be another option to consider, regardless of if MU or multiple blog installs (or even categories…)
Add a Google or Yahoo! search thingy to your blog. As I recall, you can configure it to return results for anything on your domain, which would work, right?
There’s a new Google thing that lets you create a specific Google Search. Basically you tell it the list of websites to include in the search, and it gives you a SearchBar code that you can display on any/all the sites.
So this method would not be using the WP search. But it would have the result you want.
Feel free to post here about comparison questions to WP-MU, just don’t expect answers to WP-MU problems on this forum. It’s very helpful for regular-WP users to have the opportunity to ask whether they should switch to WP-MU, and that is a perfectly valid topic here regardless of what picky people say.
lol.yah after all there isnt already enough clutter here, theres always room for more 🙂
There is a difference between members providing comparisons of WP and WPMU, and a question like “If I install WordPress MU can I search across all the blogs I install in it?“
The basic problem with the latter is, the majority of members here (including the mods) do not run WPMU, and would be unable to answer even simple questions about it, let alone take on requests for help.
