   hi,

   the search box widget does not appear on my site page http://www.divrs.org.au. is this an issue to do with the theme i am using or is there something else i should be doing?

   if the wp basic search box widget is not going to work for me is there anything other alternative? i'd rather not change themes. i looked through plugins but could not find anything else - except ajax google search box which i tried and it wouldn't install.

   hope someone out there might be able to help...i'm sure it's v obvious but i am fairly new to wp.

   So are you dragging the search widget over in your admin, and it is placed in your sidebar but just not appearing on your page?

   Are other widgets working when you drag them over?

   You could go into sidebar.php and add:

   <?php get_search_form(); ?>

   To add it manually to the sidebar.php file..

   Hi,

   Thanks for your reply. Yes - I drag widget to admin and it is placed in sidebar but doesn't appear on page. Other widgets work when I drag them over.

   I would like to try to add that code to sidebar.php - whereabouts in the code does it need to go?
