Scripts appearing at top of RSS feeds

    This is a little strange; my rss feeds (for all categories) are coming up with the following error:

    error on line 2 at column 1: Extra content at the end of the document

    This is because there is a bunch of crap that is showing up at the very top of my …/feed/ pages, before the XML/rss headers.

    The crap is the following:

    A few scripts that are registered in my theme functions with wp_register_script

    The customize_wp_support script (which is defined at wp-includes/theme.php, line 1924).

    What appears to be the html for the wp admin bar

    What??? Any insight or troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Deleted plugin: tweet old post because its latest update seems to be having issues unrelated to this problem (could well have been though).

    Then deactivated all plugins, and reactivated them in one go. Fixed the problem.

    Guess we’ll never know…

    Actually, confirmed. The problem was tweet old post. Will look into it further!
