Script Tag (AdSense) won't save in Text Widget (WordPress Mu 2.5.1) (4 posts)

    I am using WordPress Mu 2.5.1 on sexy-photo-blog.com, virtual-girl.sexy-photo-blog.com, high-heels.sexy-photo-blog.com, jw.sexy-photo-blog.com, trancendance.net and 2600degrees.com.

When I try to add adsense code to a text widget on my wordpress sidebar the script tag and the code within it gets stripped out. Text before and after the script tag is not affected (some information is successfully saved). This seems to happen with any script, not just AdSense code.

I can only find one or two other similar problems. Most people seem to be able to include script tags in text widgets, which is how it should be according to WordPress.

One similar problem I found was:

But I don't seem to get any error messages.

Preliminary response from my host (HostGator) is that mod_security is not installed on my server.

    More information:

jw.sexy-photo-blog.com does display google ads with a script in a text widget. I set up high-heels.sexy-photo-blog.com using the exact same theme template and tried the exact same script, but it will not save. These two blogs are set up the exact same as far as I can tell and use the same wordpress mu 2.5.1 installation. (p.s. the ads on jw.sexy-photo-blog.com come up in French. This is another mystery.)

Any help would be really appreciated.

p.s. I know these sites are all relatively new with relatively little content but I am 99% sure that is not the cause of this problem.

    I discovered a solution.

    Look at: http://www.thainy.com/2007/05/how-to-use-html-tag-and-script-in-wpmu-text-widget/

Basically WPMU strips out the script content unless you make this edit.

    Note: widgets.php is in wp-includes.

that's great but the Mu forum is here: http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/

I won't tell them you couldn't find the forum, if you don't ;)

Well, I'm grateful that you posted it. It's rough finding help over there some times, especially if the problem is what some folks would consider elementary. It worked for me too.

    Thanks.
