When drafting a post the screen that allows publishing has the words “Publish immediately” followed by the box labeled “Edit.” Since the word Edit is ambiguous and could mean edit the post or edit the words “Publish immediately” it would be clearer if “Edit” were replaced by “Schedule” which is unambiguous.

  • Yes, but “schedule” implies in the future. You can also use this function to back-date posts.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
Perhaps I’m dense. Why would I ever want to “back-date” a post? And wouldn’t back-dating also be scheduling?

Now that I know how to use it, it really doesn’t matter to me. However, I had to ask for help with scheduling publication and thought the change might help other users (and another person who also creates posts had the same question I did.)

Why would I ever want to “back-date” a post?

If you forget to post one, or if you have a handful that got posted out of order. It sometimes happens.
