Scan terminated with error: Invaid response from Wordfence ser
-
Someone else reported this issue earlier and I’ve been following that thread. Last post there suggested it might have been a temporary issue but it is still happening for me. I ran a successful scan at 11:14am EDT. Since then, I blocked an IP (69.12.80.114), considered trying Falcon Engine but did not (left it at Basic Caching). Connectivity tests all passed. Just tried the scan again (1:17 pm EDT – 2 hours later) and got the same error.
Help please?
thanks,
Bonnie

In case more info helps, I just tried to scan on another site – one that I haven’t done anything to yet today – and got the same error. Both sites were updated overnight to WP 3.8.2. This 2nd site is still running Wordfence 5.0.1. (I’d updated the 1st one to Wordfence 5.0.2.)
An auto scan on this 2nd site completed successfully at 3:34 am EDT.
These 2 sites are with separate providers. 1st at 1and1; 2nd at goDaddy.Yes, I have the same issue.
What concerns me more is that my pages take forever to load while the scan tries to initiate. I’ve just disabled the automatic scan for now.I am also having the same issue since the latest WordPress upgrade:

@esmi it’s the same problem we all have with the plugin. So we are all just reporting and contributing, nothing interrupting or impolite. This is still the forum as I understand and not the ticketing system. I think you have brought confusion here, since many people have the same issue today with this plugin, now there are 5 or 6 threads with the same title.
@sloba the plugin developer has a read me for this forum where the following is stated:
Welcome. PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
If you’re a free customer you’re welcome to post in these forums. If you’d like to get a fast and friendly response from us, please help us by following these simple etiquette guidelines:
Do not hijack someone else’s post. If you have a problem and hope to get help, please start your own thread. Don’t reply to someone else’s thread saying “I have the same problem, here’s my information, how can I fix this.”. Only reply if you’re adding information that may help the original poster and don’t need help yourself.
Issue is now resolved.
We had a temporary outage on one of our servers which affected the ability for some customers to perform scheduled and manual scans. The server in question has now been brought back online and scanning is available. During this time all other functions that Wordfence provides on your site continued uninterrupted. The service that we experienced a problem with was the ability to verify the integrity of your files on your site which is a part of the scan function of Wordfence.
We’re investigating this internally and will take steps to ensure the service continues without interruption in future.
My apologies for any inconvenience.
Regards,
Mark.
@lakersalex We’re simply not on the same page – I’m not the man of rules, I’m the man of logic.
I really do not have to read rules to stay polite. I have been warned by forum moderator that my post is impolite and that I’m interrupting OP. Even though that’s not the case, since I’ve said that I have the same issue, but also I’ve said what I have additionally done so it’s a suggestion (which is allowed by the rules).
Even though I didn’t break forum rules, since you’ve had time to additionally warn me about my misbehavior, I hope you can also understand that rules are good as long as there are exceptions.
And as a proof of LOGIC that this is an exceptional case you can see that plugin author had to paste the same answer at the 9 forum threads:

– http://wordpress.org/support/topic/scan-terminated-with-error-invaid-response-from-wordfence-servers?replies=7#post-5438496I do understand that replies such as “I have the same issue” may be a bit annoying and not contributing, but also it can be a feedback that the OP isn’t the only one with the problem. I don’t know, maybe WordPress can bring some functionality to the forum, for example a (+) button where other users can confirm the same issue as the OP have without the need to write a post.
OK guys, lets stay on topic here. We’re all focused on keeping our sites more secure. I absolutely appreciate all your contributions. Thanks very much to everyone who contributed to this thread in particular the forum moderator – one of the volunteers who keep things humming along.
Please let me know if the issue is resolved for you or if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks again,
Mark.
Thanks! It’s working great now!
Awesome, thanks for the confirmation.

Mark.
