Can you tell me more about what you are trying to do? Are you in the admin side?

    HI xnau!

Before updating the plugin the db working properly but after that, when I save the data (from both the admin from the private link) I see the message of saving correct but if I open the link I do not see the update.

I noticed that when I save the data the browser seems making continuous refresh…

I’d like to try to delete the plugin and reinstall but I’m scared to loose all data becacuse when I try to export csv, I find into the file only the name of the field but not the content!

There is another way to make a backup & restore (also via ftp)?

My version of php is 5.5, WP is 3.8 and Participants DB Plugin is 1.5.4

    Thanks a lot!!

Well, you can use a database backup tool to save the three tables the plugin uses. Or you can use PHPMyAdmin or something like that to save the tables.

Another way to reinstall the plugin is to just deactivate it (don’t use the delete function) then replace all the plugin files using FTP. All your settings and data will still be there.

I am having the exact same problem. Please help. thanks,

OK, tell me exactly what you are doing and what happens.

Me too. I’m trying to add a link to an existing record and have tried frontend and in admin, it says it has saved successfully but when I check the info is missing.

Em, do you have a really long name in one of your fields? Like over 30 characters?

    Hallo,
your plugin seems great, but I have the same problem as described above.
I made a fresh installation (WP is 3.8 and Participants DB Plugin is 1.5.4),could sign up and save changes in a test record. Afterwards I made several changes in the Manage Database Fields*, Settings and finally tried to save a last test record. Sign up worked, but it did not save any changes in the record and even did not even show participants first_name using [pdb_signup_thanks]:

“Thank you, [first_name] for signing up! You will receive an email acknowledgement shortly. You may complete your registration with additional information or update your information by visiting the link provided in the email.”

    Thanks!

    * I changed the Title of first_name, too.

if you can look at your PHP error logs after trying to save a record, you may get some helpful information. The main reason for this is some kind of error in the saving process.

Hi, I’ve tried to downgrade to version 1.4.8 (my last running version) and all saving problem solved.

It’s possible, but not the field I’m trying to edit.. That’s just a link with a short link title.

    massimontulli,

I’m sorry to hear that. I would have much preferred understanding what your problem is so it can be avoided by others who may run into it. But I understand that you just want it to work…if you want to use the latest version, I’m happy to help you get there.

    Hello,

I am also having the same problem.
I am using WP is 3.8 and Participants DB Plugin is 1.5.4.

I have just created a signup form. I tested my form by filling out the signup form from the website and via Add Participant (as administrator from the dashboard). In both methods, I got the message “The new record has been added.” But, when I check List Participants, there are 0 Participants in my list.

I do have some really long field names. Some of them were over 30 characters – they seem to have been automatically truncated to 30 characters. I can edit the titles, but that does not edit the field names. How can I edit the field names to make them shorter? I deleted the long database fields, made new shorter ones, and tested my form again, but that made no difference.

You have to start over by deleting the fields with the long names and create new ones with shorter names. Then once they’re created, you can make the title as long as you want.

This is a bug I am fixing in the next release.

ok – i will delete the fields with long names and create new ones with shorter names. what is the max length for the names? i will make them 15 characters or less. is that ok?

    Thanks!
