When saving new pages, WordPress seems to rewrite my htaccess file and I have to go in and readd everything. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Change the attributes of .htaccess to 644.

cool thanks. I'll try it. I appreciate it.

Also, does anyone know why this happens? Thanks.

I don't know why this happens, but I have noticed this as well (with many prior versions of WordPress too). Do not place any of your own code within the WordPress section of the .htaccess or WordPress will overwrite it. Place it elsewhere instead.

    The attributes are already 644.

Thanks iridiax, I have actually placed the code above the wordpress code in the htaccess file (rather than inside it), and so far it hasn't seemed to change anything, but I haven't really tested it yet. I wonder why it would rewrite the htaccess file, also would changing the permissions mess up wordpress if it were to try to write to the htaccess file and couldn't?

    Thanks,
