Saving a Theme

    I’m still a beginner. Can someone please explain how to save a theme from the WordPress Theme Directory so that it shows up in my themes. I follow the prompts but I only get as far as having saved it on my external hard drive. I don’t know what to do from there. I’m trying to save Magazine Basic.

    You have to upload the theme and install it.

    Hi

    After the file is on your computer, you have to upload it to the WordPress folder wp-content/themes

    If you don’t have a program to FTP files, you can either get FileZilla
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_FileZilla
    or use the File Manager program in your webhosting control panel.

    Thanks guys. I just tried uploading to my File Manager and I got about 6 error/warning messages. Thoughts? Yup, I’m a beginner alright 🙂 Thanks. Karen

    Where is your document root? In other words, where is wp-config.php?

    I have no idea. I think I’m going to phone a help desk. This “easy” blogging is killing me.
    Thank you for all your help. You guys are great. This stuff is just over my head 🙂
