save means delete?

I just downloaded and installed wordpress on my website (http://blog.redalderranch.com) today. I spent about an hour making the first post, and when I hit the save button, the whole thing vanished. The post shows the title, but nothing else. I tried several more times and each time, whether I hit save and continue, save, or publish, the same thing happened. Everything disappeared! Not what I had in mind when i hit the “save” button, I can tell you that!

Any ideas? This is new territory for me.

I foolishly opted not to set up FTP to move the files onto my computer, thinking I would just select the files and upload them through the console. It is conceivable that I missed a file, although I tried to be very careful and double check as I went.
