Same URL, New Server, No old data (2 posts)

I'm rebooting my site after losing access to my old server and my data. I'm starting from scratch with DreamHost, but when I went to install WP on my new server I get an error saying that WP is already installed on my domain. Also the original site was setup by a web developer so I'm not even sure how everything was setup in the first place. I really don't care about the old WP account as much as I do about installing it on the new server with the old URL.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Do you want to keep anything? If not, you can just delete it from your DreamHost server and start over.

You would want to either try using the One-Click interface to uninstall or do it manually, by deleting the files via FTP and removing the DB.

If you need help, just shoot me your URL, either posting here or email me at mikaE @ support.dreamhost.com and I'll be happy to help you sort it out.
