   After backing up my old site and switching servers successfully, I copied all files as they were onto the new server. At wp-admin, I was greeted by a 'new installation' window, which I filled out. I now have a blank wordpress blog, despite all my content being there.

   In the codex, it recommends

   Note: If you are changing to a new server but same domain, all you need to do is edit wp-config.php and upload everything as it is to your new server.

   However, I've lost access to all my content. Please help.

   You also needed to backup your 'old' database and restore that to your new host.
