    Hi there,

The server I'm with named my blog for me. It's called daisy8.ipage.com (ipage is the server). This name is totally unrelated to the content of the blog, plus, it's unlikely I can leave ipage and carry the name of this blog with me.

I log in to the blog through wordpress not through ipage.

Is it possible to just change the name of the blog, and keep it running as it is now?

    With thanks

Is your blog hosted at wordpress.com?

    No,

It was just badly set-up in the first instance. I was a newbie at it and one of ipage's tech staff did it for me. However she didn't go ipage's main 'install' route. This is the reason I can log in via worpress.org It's also the reason why I wondered if it was possible for me to change the url address without changing the current content.

    Thanks for your reply.

You can change the site's name via Settings -> General. If you need to change the site's url, you will need to review Changing_The_Site_URL.

Am I right in thinking that the site's url is what people see in the address bar when the site is visible on the screen?

If it is I think it's this I need to change.

thank you for the link you gave me. someday, when I'm more tech savvy, I will try to follow it. I have clicked on it and read all the instructions.
