   Hi

   I have been looking into this for a while and had no luck finding an answer.

   I would like to safely change my permalink to pretty links, without breaking any old links or being stuck in an endless loop ?

   Im currently using default permalinks and wish to change that to this. /%category%/%postname%/%post_id%/

   If I change my permalinks will the old posts with default permalinks automatically redirect to the new structure??

   how can I safely change my permalinks without breaking old links ?

   WordPress should handle the redirects for you without a problem.
