Support » Fixing WordPress » Running two separate blogs on the same installation

  • Site is: http://www.worldinconversation.org/

Presently, there is one blog that is a mix of content from two different places – our organization, and the professor’s (also a Director of the organization) class. I want to set up another blog that exists separately from the one currently found under the “WinC News” link.

    How can I accomplish this?

  • I believe best avenue is with a sub-domain that is simply linked to in your main sites menu. A properly setup sub-domain runs the same as a main domain (full install of WP, separate db, plugins, and themes). Many hosts offer many or even unlimited sub-domains.

A sub-domain in not site.com/sub it is sub.site.com and resides in your hosting account in a sub-folder that your host then points to with DNS or provides you with tools to do same.

The suggestion then, as I hear it, is to simply create a sub domain, install the same child theme and have only the blog page exist there (for now)?

    Sure.

    Okay. Thanks for the help!
