  • I just installed my wife’s blog (emerse.org). The blog shows up on RSS readers, but the name doesn’t. In Google Reader, the name shows up as “(title unknown)”.

    Tried looking into the wp-rss.php and wp-rss2.php WordPress files, but nothing obvious there to tweak. Is there a file that needs changing? Or? Thanks in advance.

  • See your source code (which is a reflection of what is in your header.php and in your admin > Options > General: Blog title:
    <title> </title>
    Nothing. Then what do you expect???

    Thanks, but when I enter the name of the blog (admin > options > general > “blog title”) the name shows up on the blog’s masthead. The masthead already has the blog name embedded. We don’t want it to show up twice. How can I enter the blog title, but not have it show up in the header?

    Add
    display: none;
    to the stylesheet for the element that is around your blogtitle.

    I believe that I have a similar situation. I am getting “(title unknown)” in google reader. When I try to look at the header.php source code it doesn’t show anything but a link to RSS. I too do not want to have the title and tagline show up on the actual blog and webpage as I have a logo there instead. To the last point above, I do not understand where i would place the display: none; at?
