• I’m using an RSS integrator to integrate my WP blog feeds on my other website. The question I have is: how do I fix the characters in the title? For example: If my post entry title has an apostrophe in it, you will see it turning into a question mark in the RSS feed content.

    Here’s what I mean:
    http://www.niquehappy.com/celebritygossip

If you scroll down and find a post entry you’ll see what I’m talking about.

If I write a title like: “Britney’s Gone Bald” in WordPress, the feed will come out with “Britney?s Gone Bald.”

If you know how I can fix this, or if you know of a better RSS Integrator, please let me know. I’m currently using rss-include.com to integrate my feeds into my site.

I know this sounds confusing. But any suggestions? Thanks!

Oh sorry, the RSS Integrator site I’m using is here:
    http://www.rss-info.com/en_rssinclude-simple.html

I like it because it’s simple to use, has an automated feature for formatting (ie. # of feeds, colors, etc.) But it screws up the titles as I’ve mentioned.

The page you’re displaying this on is using a windows-1252 encoding. The feeds you’re probably getting use UTF-8. This mismatch can cause weirdness.

Switch to using UTF-8 for everything and these problems tend to disappear. This may take some work on your page, since it’s non-standard, invalid, and displaying in quirks mode in Firefox. So it’s not a minor job to do.

Ohhhh really. Darn! It must be a Microsoft thing. Great – I have no idea how to switch. 🙁 Thanks for the help.

I’m still welcoming other ideas. 🙂
