    Hi there everyone.
    I have wp 1.5 installed.
    With the Rin theme.
Recently I have noticed that my rss reader is not displaying my images. It knows there is one there but it can't find it. (Newsfire). I installed a friends wp blog and it displays fine.
Any ideas ? Is it something to do with the db or the code in my blog ?

    Cheers K

In Options/Reading, set "For each article, show:" to "Full text". That will produce the desired effect. And, I agree, it should say "Full HTML".

    Hi there macmanx.

Sorry i forgot that I switched that off.
When I do have it activated my images still do not load. I get a question mark ?

Cheecked the permissions on the image folder seems to be ok (755)

I will turn it back on.

    cheers P

If I hot link an image or use flickr the images will display.
    Very confusing ?

You'll have to use an absolute URL for the images, not a relative URL.

    Do not use a relative URL: <img src"/images/image.jpg" alt="image" />

    Use an absolute URL: <img src"http://www.domain.com/blog/images/image.jpg" alt="image" />

Odd, your images appear to be fine, but they are not loading in the RSS for me as well. Have you edited any feed files? Try disabling all active plugins.

    howdy.
    Cheers for the help.

I have disabled plug ins. As far as I know I have not edited any code to do with the rss feeds.
I have not changed any of the feed files.
I have just installed fresh rss files.
    Still the same problem ?

I can see the images in "getting enough fibre ?" and "naked portafilter", which are pointing to jpgs on other sites.

Any chance your server doesn't allow remote linking of files?

The starnge thing is it used to work.
And the images work on another WP I set up for a friend http://www.molten.co.nz/wordpress/

I will contact the server and see if they are having problems.

    Cheers K

I've been following this, and the images in my RSS feed are not absolutely linked but relatively linked, and when I look in my feed reader, they show up, albeit not aligned as I'd like but they are there.

Is having the images absolutely linked critical across the board or is this a special case? And is there anyway to add CSS to RSS feeds going out the door?

    feeling a bit stoopid

I am sorry everyone and thankyou for your help.

A while back I had someone hotlinking to a couple of large photos on my site. I activated hot linking protection on my server. And forgot about it.

I am sorry thankyou for your help once again.

    WP forever !

Not really, but sometimes it fixes oddities like this due to certain server configurations.

Knuckle, I'm glad you got it fixed. Congrats!
