I'm having trouble with the RSS feed for the site that I run. The feed is recognized by Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc. but when you actually click on the RSS icon, the user is redirected to a 404 error.
The feed is hosted at http://www.domain.com/rss/ (ignore the bare formatting - it gets run through CSS)...
http://www.domain.com/rss/feed is where the feed would usually be...
http://www.domain.com/feed/ is where the 404 error appears. Note that the WordPress install directory "/rss/" is no longer present in the url.

Okay - I've just upgraded to version 2.7.1 (manually) and still have the problem.
What gives?
Anybody?

Paul,
I am having the same issue, and it broke all of sudden for me. I will update this post if I find a solution. Meanwhile run you feed through feedvalidate site, for I get 403 forbiddent access.
http://www.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fstayingfitonline.com%2Ffeed
Update this post if you find the solution as well.

The validator simply returns a 404 error for the feed url.
However, I have noticed something odd. I have multiple WordPress installations on the same server, and their feed urls are formatted quite differently than my problem site.
Here's what their url looks like: http://www.domain.com/rss/?feed=rss2
My problem site doesn't have the "?feed=rss2" at all, which is the likely culprit for the 404 error. There must be something wrong with a config file somewhere. I've got no idea where to look however.
