   I used the Social Media Widget, and when you click on the RSS icon, it's not asking you which blog reader they'd like to use. Instead, it's opening an XML file.

   We really want to use our Feedburner URL for this...I don't use the build in WordPress RSS widget because it doesn't integrate with google analytics.

   It's working exactly how it's suppsoed to. On my computer it opens in my reader, because I have my reader configured that way

   Otherwise, it opens xml file. ppl copy the link and put it in their reader if they like

   Now, there are plugins available to redirect your WP feed to your feedburner feed. That's how I do it in my sites which use feedburner

   hi again

   If I click on the RSS icon in IE, it takes me to my Google Reader

   If I click on the RSS icon in Google Chrome, that's when the XML file appears.

   Isn't there a way if somebody clicks on the RSS icon, it gives them the option of how they want to subscribe? (Google, Blogger, email etc)

   Is there a plugin for that instead?

   There may be a plugin for Google chrome.

   Forcing behaviours on end users isn't necessarily appropriate. I don't think it's something you can configure on your end anyway. People who use RSS know exactly how to use it normally anyway.

   If I click on my rss icon on voodoopress in IE, it goes to my feedburner page, but if I type the URL into the address window on IE, it goes to IEs built in RSS reader.

   Same browser, different behaviour. It's just how RSS works.

   Now, there are subscription plugins... like addtoany, which you can configure to give users options. It'll have a tonne of choices. It won't change the RSS behaviour any though, but it can have email, etc. I'm sure there are a variety of plugins that do similar.

   Sure, just give it a little research. There are most likely a tonne of subscription options available as plugins. Just gotta find one that looks/behaves as you would prefer!
