I have a multi-site install, with domain mapping (no subdirectory or subdomain subsites, only mapped domains). A couple of days ago, I noticed that on my Dashboard of my main site, I have the following error listed under "WordPress Development blog", "Other WordPress news" and as of today (though it wasn't like that yesterday), under "Incoming Links". I see the same error on some of my subsites, but strangely enough, NOT on all of them! I disabled the active plugins on my main site (except for the wpmu plugins), and nothing. The theme used on my main site is a custom theme with nothing really fancy in it, that I rolled myself.

Any ideas as to what may be going on? Any troubleshooting steps?

    Thanks!

Ok, so I followed these steps to solve the problem:

Under solution #2. I installed the Core Control plugin and tested CURL. Definitely a problem with it, because it gave me a time-out error when I tested it.

    So now what?

One more note: I deactivated all of the WPMU plugins as well, and it didn't solve the problem. I've also taken everything out of mu-plugins and installed them normally (wp-content/plugins).

That sounds like a server error, if Curl isn't working. Can you grab your server admin and ask if there's a reason CURL can't get to WP?

Well, it looks like it was some sort of issue with Cloudflare. I turned off Cloudflare for this site, turned off the Cloudflare plugin, and everything worked. I went BACK to Cloudflare and turned the plugin back on, and it still works. So... I'll leave it at that for now.

    Thanks for your help!
