When I click on the rss feed I see the articles. If I go back, I cannot see the articles listed unless a new article is added. Is this how it is supposed to work

the long and short answer is that you need to upgrade.
1. 2.0.6 had well-known RSS issues that were fixed in the next release.
2. The version you are using is exploitable. Hackable. etc..
If you really want to be irresponsible and continue using exploitable code, you can always read this:
