• Hello Everyone,

I am new to WordPress and RSS feeds so please bare with me.

I have setup wordpress as my own personal journal, to record my daily activites.

    My questions are as follows:

    1. Is there a way to disable the RSS feeds with this newest version?

    2. Is there any other way for information to be retrieved from my blog(s) besides viewing them on the web page?

the reasons why I ask are as follows:

I have sensative information that I do not want to share. I have taken extra mesaures with my blogs by using SSL, and password authentication.

I do not want any of my information that I post to be “Brodcasted” anywhere.

If anyone can help me as soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks for all your help.

  • There is no switch per se for turning off your feeds, but you can take steps to remove them. The simplest is to set Syndication Feeds under Options > Reading to show ‘0’ posts. But the most *secure* method is to remove (that is, delete) the various feed files for your blog. These are:

    wp-feed.php
    wp-rss.php
    wp-rss2.php
    wp-atom.php
    wp-rdf.php
    wp-commentsrss2.php

These are all found in your WordPress installation root directory.

Short of someone gaining access to your database, if you’ve put the proper security blocks in place your blog content should remain private.
