   Hey all,
   running the latest version of WordPress with TMA (the morning after) as my theme. This is what I would like to do?

   create a rotating banner ad under the DESCRIPTION area (twitter/facebook) area, as wide as the two columns below but narrow in height, like the size of the icon on recent posts

   can this be done? thank you ahead of time

   Yes but unless you're pretty comfortable with PHP coding I'd suggest you try looking for a rotating banner plugin.
