    Hi

    Sorry for double post, I think I closed the topic? MODS can you please remove my other post titled the same?

    Hi all

    I placed my WP here http://www.mylifeisagarden.com/blog

    And I thought that I could still put a site in the main

    http://www.mylifeisablog.com

    I followed some instructions to do this (can't recall them)

    Anyway, I've been trying to do a simple a redirect using a htaccess file, and I've run into some problems..

    I think I may have put WP in the wrong spot!

    I have some screenshots of my ftp remote view here:

    http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/2587/37759290.jpg

    And within the public html folder it look like this:

    http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/7974/image2ie.jpg

    I was told that I should have a sub domain set up, and I thought that my wp blog would be nice and neatly behind the /blog file directory.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    BTW this is the HTacess code I found

    <Files ~ "^\.(htaccess|htpasswd)$">
    deny from all
    </Files>
    Redirect permanent http://www.mylifeisagarden.com http://www.mylifeisagarden.com/blog
    order deny,allow

    It is not working ATM.

    Thanks!

    I can see your blog: http://www.mylifeisagarden.com/blog/
    But at the root - what I see looks like the default page from your host.

    Yep, but take a look at my images, have I set it up correctly on my host site?

    I need to know where my redirect file goes, public html has a php index file in it, is that becuase of wp?

    No, the wordpress index.php is inside the directory blog.

    If you want to run your blog from root, check this:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

    If you want to run blog from the directory blog, the present setting is enough, except you upload new index.php and other files (you want to put in root) to your root.

    Thanks mate, so it's set up correctly? I want the blog under/blog. I'm just trying to get my redirect working and I thought it was nit because it was set up incorrectly
