• Hello,

I have a domain – healthitlink.com and on that domain there is a tab for “jobs”. When you click on the Jobs tab (if you’re logged in to healthitlink.com) it brings you to the subdomain of: jobs.healthitlink.com

Once there, you are already logged in as I figured out a to pass through your login & credential from domain to subdomain.

BUT – the roles are different. On healthitlink.com the roles are stadard WP roles. On the subdomain, jobs.healthitlink.com – the roles are either “job seeker” or “job poster”.

I’d like for those that have registered on my domain to be automatically recognize as a “job seeker” when they click on the jobs tab.

So, is there a way to dictate which roles a set on the domain?

    Thanks,
    Rob 🙂

  • Hey Rob,

Yes, this is possible with the help of a plugin. The plugin link is below:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/multisite-user-management/

You can set the default role each user should have on each site in your network. I hope this does what you are looking for! Let me know if you need any other help.

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for the suggestion but that seems to be only if you have multisite configured…but you pointed me in the right direction!

Hmm I automatically assumed that if you have WordPress set up on subdomains that you are using Multisite. Are you just using standalone WordPress installs in each folder of your subdomains? If so, why didn’t you choose to use Multisite?

I would think it would be so much easier. But I am sure I am missing something haha!
