[resolved] Role Manager killed my site (4 posts)

    Greetings all:

I have the Role Manager plugin installed on a new site, and was making some modifications to the different roles, primarily because (unsure if this is related) I had installed and then uninstalled NextGen Gallery, which left some entries in the Roles list behind (which could not be turned off) which were leaving users unable to access the dashboard.

My ultimate resolution was to just create a new Role for my users; awesome, this worked fine. However, then I decided to delete the old role (which was no longer the default role; it was just another Role). After deleting the role, I have *no* access to any part of my site; not the public part, nor wp-admin. It loads completely blank (as in, no source) pages.

Since I'm days away from rolling this site out, I'm more than a little perturbed by this. TO further exacerbate the problem, my host uses a third-party for DB hosting, and I'm not sure (yet) if I can get into the DB via SSH to make changes/alterations to the tables.

Any advice or experience with this issue would be fabulously appreciated.

    Thanks!

Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

James: That did it! I had tried deleting the offending plugin folders, but this fixed it. Now I just have to figure out what I wrecked earlier.

    Thanks tons.
