Rin (fka Manji2) Released (19 posts)

  1. Khaled has released the final version of Rin (fka Manji2). Rin is more-or-less a two-column version of Manji. You can download Rin and see a preview here: http://www.brokenkode.com/manji

Ah the preview isn't working, but I guess it's almost the same as the beta he released. Thought ht purple colouring for the new name is nice:)

I know. Rin is just too cool to mention. Khaled and Joshua deserve a big up for this. Some of the styles emerging are stunning.

Yeah, no kidding.... now I don't have any excuse for not moving to 1.5. All I need to do now is toss out the designs I was working on and just modify Rin....

I'm jsut waiting for some one to create a version called TinTin.... then in could be called RinTinTin.... HA! I crack me up sometimes... but this isn't one of them is it?

It's very promising and you only have to look at who's involved to wonder how goo dit could be.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I've got to admitt that even though I was sceptical about the AKSC it did get me off my lazy ass and get the final tweaks in there. Now if only I could get my completely hacked manji code to play nice with me I might be a happy bunny.

Great theme, but I've got one problem. If I add a text width the chars å, ä or ö inside the sidebar they doesn't show corectly. Is there a way to make this work?

I wish the div ids were more standard. It makes using plugins such as the WP ContactForm or subscribe2 a hassle I gave up on. Yes, I've already used the Firefox plugin, and I really tried to figure it all out....

    but I failed.

When you say *more standard* what do you have in mind ?

    @ski3r,
You have to use an editor that has utf-8 support, I guess.

That's what I'd like to know. I'm getting ready to release a theme of my own, and would like to make sure it's usable with other plugins that depend on somekind of "standardization."

  17. That's odd, I don't see anything wrong with wp-contactform running under Rin.

Root: It seems like every other theme or plugin uses a div id such as div id="rap", where as Rin uses div id="container", or whatever the "rap" alternative (if I was not such an idiot and could figure out what the alternative was on my own, I'd be much better off, I suppose) is.

I realize that there is not a set standard...but so far everything else that I have looked at has used the same div id's and such...

Macmanx: Ah! I thought I had tried to use the WP Contact Form plugin with Manji2 and that it didn't work. Just tried it again and it works perfectly.

The other plugin I had in mind, the subscribe2 plugin, however, still doesn't work. As far as I can tell (and Scott told me this as well), the problem seems to lie in the different div ids.

Well when Khaled and I set up Manji 1 we could of gone any which way. The naming convention in the Default is completely different in Classic anyway. Should we follow one or the other? And what happens when you need to add a div ?
