Right next steps ?

    I am completely new to wordpress , am okay with computers but certainly not technical person.
    This may seem a stupid question , but I`m stuck. I purchased a domain
    name, and separate hosting with Hostgator.
    Found out is easier to setup wordpress.org via fantastico on hostgator which I did.
    Dont laugh if this is a silly question but what is my next step to access the dashboard and start building.

    I cannot access or even find the dashbboard to start building what I would like. I am sure there is some steps or major things I have missed out .

    Its too early for me to be frustrated . H E L P ! ! ! (smile) All answers welcome.

    You probably still need to have the company you purchased your domain through point their NameServers to your new host. Your site won’t work with your host unless your registrar is setup to use them as the host.

    Once that has been done and after the cache-update-wait of what is often termed ‘propagation’, you will be able to see your site, and you can access the dashboard by appending wp-admin onto the URL.

    Depending on if you installed in root then there may be a place
    holder that hostgator put in root that you need to delete it could be index.html or default.html

    Thanks everyone.

    Was able to get in touch with the domain company,
    and simply had to change my namseservers.
    I can exhale and breathe a sigh of relief now. I am learning as i go.
