Right Click protect for only some pages?? (4 posts)

Hi! I have a photography gallery using the Village template. I know that the template has the right click protect, and that there are some right click plugins out there, too. I do want to protect my images, but I also have a client access page for clients to see their works. I want to make the images in those client page downloadable while still protecting the regular images.

What is the best way to do this?

I don't know of a way to do this easily, at least what the average person would consider easy. Most right click protects are done with javascript, so you could include your own, instead of using one in a theme or a plugin, and then using some conditional tags, make sure the script is not included on the client access pages.

On another note, disabling right click is really easy to get around, so it doesn't offer much protection. Just something you should know if you're really relying on it to protect images.

yea, right click is very easy to get around, as I just found out, lol. Please take a look at my page and let me know if I should bother with it: fotosiamo.com

    Thanks!

I personally wouldn't worry about disabling right click. If someone wants your photos, they can get them. I've had clients before who wanted right click protection, but I've always been able to convince them otherwise, as it really doesn't protect your photos very much and it can be annoying for some users.

Really the best way to protect images is using a watermark, but that can take more time to add a watermark to each picture and it doesn't always look the best, so that's a decision you'll have to make.
