No problem – you do realize that it is only good for text – for that it’s really simple. But, it does not work for images.
Once you’ve added the shortcode to the page you should be able to edit the content just like the rest of the page including images.

No, it becomes a mess. Too much manipulation of the code is required to make it simple enough for my customers. The default size is auto for only one dimension. And, if you want the image to align-right, you have to manipulate the code to make sure the box aligns the same.
I’ve not seen that before, the visual editor generally works pretty well for the content. Perhaps there’s some interference from the theme…

No, but with that in mind, I’ll try it with another theme. I’m using Suffusion on the site that I tried it. At times, one too many plugins with shortcodes can tangle each other up as well. WordPress is certainly not plug-n-play.
