[resolved] Rhymed Code Asides no longer working (6 posts)

    I use the rhymed code for posting asides which is NOT dependent on a tag but rather on using two loop queries. After updating to 2.1, my "asides" are not separating out.

    In the index, I have as follows:

    <?php $wp_query->set('cat', '-26'); ?>
    <?php query_posts(''); ?>

    and in the sidebar where the "asides" appear

    <?php query_posts( 'category_name=asides&showposts=4' ); ?>
    <?php if( have_posts() ) : ?>

    Any explanation?

    I did look at that last night. I am not sure how my code differs from the Codex suggestions at all. For example, if I just do

    <?php query_posts('cat=-26'); ?>

    I get the same result - no exclusion of category no. 26. I worked just fine before the upgrade and now it does not.

    I'm stumped. Have you tried disabling all plugins?

    I did disable some and then got frustrated and rolled back to 2.0.whatever. Thanks for trying to help me though.

    I'm bumping this up. I upgraded, again, to 2.1. Disabled Adhesive. Loaded all plugins one by one, but I still have the issue with the query posts code not working. Does exclusion of cats no longer work?
