Rewrite URLs to show Gallery Name and be more SEO friendly (7 posts)

How exactly can I modify the rewrite.php script for Nextgen Gallery so that the Permanlink structure will be more SEO friendly?

Instead of it being "page-X/album-X/gallery-X/" etc. I would like to remove the page and album and just have the Gallery name in the url followed by the page number of the gallery if applicable.

So for example I would like it to look like:

    /photoalbum/galleryname/

and if there is applicable additonal pages for the gallery:

    /photoalbum/galleryname/page-2

Anyone know how I can achieve this? What is involved in modifying the rewrite script to make this happen?

Just for reference I have already rewrote the page titles to have the gallery name, see this topic: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/227040?replies=4 - however I am not sure how to do it with the page permalink urls.

Have you perhaps found a solution yet? I'd like to have it like that too.

    Haven't found any solution.

The author of this plugin doesn't seem to want to reply to this or improve this issue.

I think the author really needs to improve this as it would help the SEO of the site significantly.

I agree, I too am dying to get this..There is no other plugin to use either that is as good NextGen..I can't go forward with my site until it has friendly URL's.

Unfortunately Alex Rabe the author seems to totally ignore this aspect and has done nothing to improve the SEO/rewrite feature in over a year now.

This is something that really needs to be addressed, it would make an already great plugin 100x better if he could simply improve the rewrite feature.
